Hi, I have been using Alter for the last two weeks, mainly for writing. I wanted to let you know that it is quite impressive compared to other apps such as Elephas, Kerlig, and Steer. Alter offers much more than these applications, as it includes numerous action items and allows users to create their own actions as well. The free version with credits is very generous for writing purposes.
Alter Artifacts: create mini apps
Alter Artifacts are similar to Claude Artifacts and available under the Create section. For general purpose apps, use the HTML pages or Tailwind React Apps action. You can share generated artifacts on the web with one-click for anyone to see.
You have more specialized actions to quickly create what you need:
Charts: create all kind of beautiful charts with Recharts
Diagrams: create mind maps, sequence diagrams and other diagrams supported by Mermaid
HTML Presentations: repurpose content or create dynamic presentations, Watch Video 🎥
Images: generate AI images with Flux state-of-the-art models

AppSense: support for browser images
AppSense is one of our most powerful feature. It’s like x-rays for apps. It fetch the context from your active window app to make your AI assistant smarter.
We added support for retrieving images from browser pages, useful when repurposing content:

Alter started with quick AI actions rather than a chat-oriented UI. With the introduction of Co-intelligences and now Artifacts, Alter provides both experiences: begin with a quick action and keep the conversation going.
No action match your task? Start a chat with “Ask Anything” for a blank canvas. Your conversations are stored locally and encrypted using Apple Keychain.

Vision at your fingertips
All actions that asks for your input have the ability to add screenshots. It works with GPT-4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet and Gemini 1.5.
Click the Screenshots menu to open a list of all your running apps windows. Alter will capture the selected window.

Minimize and let it work
Analyzing large PDFs or creating artifacts can take time, so we are introducing minimize mode. This feature allows you to minimize the conversation view and drag it to your preferred location.

Bug fixes and small improvements
Shrinked Alter's size from 500MB to 45MB! We removed Python dependencies, making Alter smaller and faster.
Added Context Pills to the chat to track the context used in the conversation.
