Hey everyone,

As you may have noticed, we have been working hard over the past few weeks to make voice and meeting features work in the best way possible.

Today is no different.

Not only have we rebuilt our auto meeting recording feature, but we have also introduced auto stop recording (and more features down the line too).

What We Did

Alter can now auto-record and auto-stop meeting recording . When you leave your meeting, either by closing your tab or quitting your meeting application, we automatically stop the recording and prepare the transcript for you.

Don’t worry, if you like to debrief after leaving an online call, you will see a notification giving you time to keep the recording on.

The Results

  1. Seamless Meeting Recording
    Auto-recording and auto-stop recording now work flawlessly, stopping capture automatically when you exit meetings, with a notification to delay stopping if you want to debrief.

  2. Faster Transcripts
    Transcription starts almost immediately for users relying on local models like Whisper Pro or Parakeet, boosting productivity.

More control

We also introduced more granular control with the auto feature in Settings > Voice > Automation > Settings…

You can now choose at the application level which apps you want toenable recording for, making it easy to exclude for example FaceTime, which you may use for personal calls.

On top of this, we also give you the option to enable or disable "finding the speaker names," making it even faster to get your transcript ready!
