Bring Grok and Pi coding tools into Alter

Alter 2.0.0-beta108 brings more coding tools directly into your local workflow, along with better control over when your gateways are available.

You can now run and manage Grok and Pi coding tasks, connect Grok as a custom provider through subscription OAuth, and schedule automatic gateway availability.

Run Grok and Pi from the Hub

Grok and Pi are now available as local coding tools in Alter.

Launch coding tasks from the Hub, then manage and monitor them alongside your other coding work like we’ve shown last week with Claude Code.

With these additions, Alter gives you more ways to orchestrate local coding agents from a single workspace.

Connect Grok with subscription OAuth

Grok can now be connected as a custom model provider through subscription OAuth in Settings.

This makes it easier to use your Grok subscription directly within your existing Alter setup with Websearch and X search tools being supported.

Grok Build and Pi agent are now supported

Enjoy extra options and even more coding agents to work in parallel and in adversarial mode.

Schedule your gateway hours

Gateways can now follow an open-hours schedule.

They wake automatically when their availability starts and return to sleep when availability stops, helping you control when they are ready to work while avoiding unnecessary activity outside scheduled hours.
