Orchestrate coding tasks from Alter

Run Claude Code asynchronously, check progress with a simple question, and keep coding work connected to your context.

Hey everyone,

Alter can now act as a conversational command center for coding agents.

In the demo below, we use an Alter workspace containing the Alter website codebase. From one conversation, we start coding tasks with Claude Code, check their status while they run, and receive their results when they finish.

Watch now:

Start coding from Alter

Enable the Coding Actions you need from the Alter Marketplace, then select Claude Code in your project workspace.

In the demo, Claude Code reviews the Alter HQ website and suggests a better layout for its comparison pages. The task runs asynchronously, so you can keep chatting with Alter while it works.

Check progress with “Status?”

Just ask Alter:

“Status?”

Alter reports what the active task is doing directly in the conversation. No separate task view is needed.

Run another task

While the first task is running, start a second Claude Code task to find stale, duplicated, or outdated landing pages.

Both tasks run independently in the same conversation, and their results return to Alter when they finish.

Keep your context connected

Alter can use the meetings, notes, and other context already in your workspace to give coding tools the right background.

Coding Actions support Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, and OpenCode.

Cheers,
Olivier & Sam.
