Hey everyone,

Tired of juggling multiple steps just to use the last AI response? We hear you, and we’ve built something to make your workflow even smoother.

Today, we’re excited to announce four brand-new Quick Actions in Alter designed to save you time and streamline your productivity:

Meet Your New Quick Actions - In the “Tool Manager” menu

1. Open URL Instantly

Found a link in the AI response? Don’t waste a click. This action opens any URL right away in your default browser for quick research, follow-ups, or automation triggers.

And yes, it can open multiple URLs, including callback URLs, perfect for local automation!

2. Copy as Markdown

Need perfect formatting for notes or docs? This copies the last AI answer as Markdown, keeping headers, lists, links, and code blocks intact — ready for Obsidian, Notion, or any Markdown-friendly app.

3. Save as DOCX

Want a professionally styled document without fuss? Save the AI’s response as a Microsoft Word (.docx) file instantly. Great for reports, editing, or sharing with your team.

4. Close Window

Done with your current session? This Quick Action will close the active Alter window for you, decluttering your space and keeping you focused.

Why These Matter

We built these Quick Actions to cut clicks and friction, so you can move from AI reply to action in one step. Whether you’re grabbing links, prepping docs, or just wrapping up, these shortcuts let Alter work the way you do: fast, flexible, and fuss-free.

How to Use Them

  1. After getting your Alter reply, hit the Quick Actions button at the bottom-right of the chat window or use Cmd+T.

  2. Choose the new action that fits your task: Open URL, Copy as Markdown, Save as DOCX, or Close Window.

  3. Or, assign your favorite as a keyboard shortcut for lightning-fast execution.

Ready to try? Just update Alter and start clicking!

  • Quick Actions: Added "Save Last Message as docx" quick action.

  • Quick Actions: Added "Copy as Markdown" quick action, for when you wnat to keep those hashes.

  • Quick Actions: Added "Open URLs" quick actions, because you were to click them anyways.

Bug Fixes & Stability

  • Quick Actions: Improved default shortcuts, replacing cmd+k to reuse with ctrl+r. You might need to reset your shortcusts for some actions

  • Quick Actions: Close window after using the "Insert" quick action.

  • Models: Fixed empty model list on custom endpoint error.

  • Audio processing: Improve default audio processor error reporting.

  • Audio processing: Fixed timing of live transcription was off.

  • Audio processing: Fixed issues with downloading Whisper models.

  • Diarization: Better number of speakers.

  • Tools: Fixed Application Connections not re-created properly when adding a tool.

  • Messages: Added more instructions to send message tool.
