Use Alter credits to power other AI tools!

Hey everyone, we're excited to open our API. 

It’s an OpenAI-compliant endpoint supporting chat completions and model listing.

This feature means you can access models provided by Alter on any tools supporting OpenAI endpoints.

Instead of having your billing details across many providers, you can enjoy having Alter as your centralized billing entry point.

This opens a world of new possibilities; for example, you can use the Alter API for popular and specialized projects:

• Cline - Autonomous coding agent for VSCode

• SillyTavern - Roleplaying chat app

• NovelCrafter - Book writing

Or you can develop your own project and use Alter as your LLM provider!

To get started:

1. Update Alter to 1.7.0

2. Open the Preferences and go to the API tab.

3. Create your API key.

4. Copy the endpoint and paste in your app.

If the app doesn’t list the models, here’s the format for model ids:
<Provider>#<Model-name>

Examples:
