Opening Words
We're almost there with the release, working tirelessly. We faced a few challenges with app installation (Apple app signing…), but we've continued to add new features.
The highlight of this update? We now support file handling 🔥. Make sure to check that out!
🔥 Support for files
Alter actions can take one or more files as input directly from the Finder!
No need to upload, just select one or more files in your file explorer, and available actions are shown.
It’s that simple. The code implementation, though, is not.
Super excited to bring this to our platform as it feels so natural to call AI actions like "summarize" directly on a file.
Auto-updates
Alter will prompt you to update the version when we release new features or bug fixes. We expect to make rolling updates every 15 days at most to avoid “updates fatigue”.
As you are part of the upcoming beta, you might receive more frequent updates to squash critical bugs.
Besides features, updates will bring more optimized prompts for you to play with.
Advanced: Context evaluation
To avoid duplicating prompts solely due to their input source, we changed the context evaluation to allow AND/OR operators.
For example, a prompt can now be displayed if there’s a text selection or a file selected, and use this context in the prompt.
